We sold a hard-to-source Mac battery to an Amway designer in the early 1990s, beginning a 20 year relationship that started with them using our ad-hoc service and ended in with Twilight Zone becoming their totally outsourced IT resource for their UK and Europe HQ.
Amway is a truly global business, operating in over 100 countries and territories. The UK and Europe HQ were supported by an IT resource in Germany, but when the London-based operations wanted to expand their use of Apple machines, they looked more locally for expert help.
We managed Amway’s UK’s entire Apple estate for almost 20 years after initially being brought in to support a design team of Mac users in what was a PC-dominated business.
The number of Macs grew from six to around 20, and in addition to this expansion, we guaranteed a seamless move from their HQ in Hemel Hempstead to Milton Keynes. We handled their file servers, workstations, software, email integration and all other integral services. For more than 10 years we acted as the outsourced IT team for the UK with an engineer permanently onsite at their UK HQ.
Experience centre installation and management
Bespoke services for Amway UK included setting up their experience centre and training facilities in Holborn, London. We configured the back-end of the entire centre and provide on-going support engineering for the building including office computers, kiosks for customer web browsing and all IT infrastructures for the demonstration areas. By operating both on-site and remote support to we ensured that their Flagship Experience Centre shows off the Amway brand in the very best light.
